Philadelphia is getting a new home for some of its biggest sports teams.

 

The Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia’s future WNBA team are set to share a new privately funded arena planned for the historic Spectrum grounds in South Philadelphia. The arena is currently expected to open in 2030 and is being developed as a major destination for sports, entertainment and community events.

 

The first look at the proposed arena was unveiled on September 8, 2026, alongside the Flyers and Comcast, offering Philadelphia its first glimpse at what could become one of the city’s newest entertainment landmarks.

 

The planned 2030 opening is still several years away, but the first images give the public an early look at what Philadelphia’s next major sports venue could look like.
